Here’s one from the archive. I accidently deleted this one a few years ago, so I will republish it just in time for Halloween.
As I stepped into the Orlando Zombie Ball, I was instantly hit by the energy. Performers were breathing fire like they were straight out of a fantasy movie, and there were zombies at the bar sipping on colorful drinks that definitely weren’t blood. Zombies? Everywhere. Myself included. Here’s a photo of me after a few too many beers:
Yours truly, dressed in my best Zombie makeup.
The event took place on October 22, from 8 p.m. to midnight, and for just $15 in advance, it felt like a steal. Everyone had to come in costume, and let me tell you, people got super creative. I saw everything from sexy zombies to a guy dressed as Daryl Dixon from the Walking Dead. It was like walking through a living Halloween store!
DJ Brian Dawe was on the decks, playing all the right jams. I found myself on the dance floor, getting down with a group of zombies who really knew how to bust a move. At one point, I was laughing so hard I almost forgot to dance!
Upstairs was a whole different vibe. They had a scare zone called “Legends: A Haunting at Old Town.” As I crept through, I felt my heart racing. Suddenly, a zombie jumped out, and I screamed louder than I’d like to admit! It was a mix of fear and excitement that kept me on my toes.
What stood out the most was how everyone was there to have fun. I spotted a couple dressed as Rick Grimes and Michonne, and they were taking the cutest photos together. It reminded me of the joy of dressing up for Halloween as a kid, just without the trick-or-treating. Did I mention the beer? Lol.
By the end of the night, my feet were sore from dancing, and I had the biggest smile on my face. The Orlando Zombie Ball was everything I hoped it would be—fun, wild, and a little spooky. I can’t wait for next year! If you’re looking for a fun way to celebrate Halloween, this is definitely the place to be.
