So, we’re officially in the heart of winter here in Orlando (yes, it gets chilly, we swear!) and I couldn’t wait to head over to Seasons 52 to check out their winter menu. If you haven’t been to this place, it’s one of those restaurants that’s always a little fancy but still makes you feel like you could drop in wearing your sweatpants. Plus, the menu changes seasonally, so there’s always something new to try.
I dragged my husband and kids along because, let’s be real, they’re my guinea pigs when it comes to food adventures. (My husband’s still trying to figure out why he married someone who “works” eating, but I’m not complaining!) Anyway, Seasons 52 knows how to turn cold weather into a reason to celebrate. The first thing that hit me when we walked in was this cozy vibe—it’s like they cranked up the comfort level while still keeping it classy. We’re talking a little bit of wood, some twinkle lights, and a drink menu that could make anyone forget they’re still in Florida.
We started with the Winter Spiced Cranberry Mule. The kids, of course, tried to sneak a sip, because apparently that’s just what kids do, and honestly, I was kind of glad they didn’t—this drink was way too good to share! The ginger and cranberry combo was like a warm hug in a glass, and I’m pretty sure it was one of the reasons I was instantly sold on this winter menu. It wasn’t too sweet, just the right amount of kick, and it looked so pretty I almost didn’t want to drink it. Almost.
Next came the food, and let me tell you, if you’ve been slacking on going to Seasons 52 in the colder months, you’re missing out. The Wild Mushroom Risotto was chefs kiss—creamy, earthy, and full of flavor. It’s the kind of dish that makes you forget what’s happening outside, and with kids running around all crazy, it was nice to have something that calmed me down. The risotto came with a side of roasted Brussels sprouts, which were just the right balance of crispy and tender—like a little bit of joy on a plate.
But then, here comes the star of the show: the Braised Short Ribs. Now, I’m not one to swoon over a piece of meat (okay, maybe a little bit), but these short ribs were the type that melt in your mouth with just the right amount of sauce. My husband, who’s picky about food, actually leaned back in his chair and let out this audible “Mmmm,” which is basically his way of saying he approves without using words. The kids were too busy bickering over who got the last bite of mashed potatoes, but honestly, I think they were secretly loving it too.
Of course, we had to top it all off with dessert. Seasons 52 is known for their mini indulgences, and yes, we tried all of them. My personal fave was the Pumpkin Pie Mini Indulgence. It’s one of those desserts that makes you wonder why they don’t serve it all year round. The spices were perfect—just the right amount of cinnamon and nutmeg—and the whipped cream on top made me question if I should start a petition to make it a permanent fixture on the menu.
As we finished up, I realized I hadn’t been to Seasons 52 in a while, and let’s just say I’ve been missing out. It’s not just the food that’s great—it’s the whole experience. It’s a place where you can enjoy fancy dishes without feeling like you need to put on a tie (although, don’t worry, you can if you want to). The winter menu is a warm, flavorful celebration of the season that’ll make you forget it’s even chilly outside—at least for a little while.
So, if you’re looking for something cozy to wrap up your winter nights, Seasons 52 is the spot. I’ll be back next week, and I might just be wearing those sweatpants again—who’s judging?
